Our Oral Health Therapist

Katie Pistol

Bachelor of Oral Health in Oral Health Therapy

Going to the dentist doesn’t need to be scary!  I try to keep your dental visit as fun and friendly as possible. My goal is to help patients build dental confidence so they can have a healthy mouth for life.

Gums are the foundation to a healthy smile and our teeth are terrific for talking, eating and smiling!! No two mouths are ever the same, so I try to give information adapted to the individual’s needs and circumstances.

Learning to prevent disease and look after our health from a young age is a great way of building healthy habits that last a lifetime. Finding any potential dental problems early usually means quicker and easier interventions (and hopefully less chance of any dental pain!)

After graduating from Griffith University on the Gold coast, Katie worked in both public and private practice. Over time she has developed a passion for helping people, especially working with children and anxious patients to overcome dental fears using a gentle approach and positive attitude.

As an Oral Health therapist, Katie is dually qualified as a dental Hygienist and a Dental Therapist. This means she provides general check-up and dental treatment for our younger patients (up to age 17) and preventive care and professional teeth cleaning for patients of all ages. She works in consultation with our Dentists and other health professionals to ensure her patients receive the best care possible
